The Burden of Being a Man

For me, being a man means carrying the weight of being a son who never fulfilled his father’s expectations, a husband who provides, a father who is supposed to be strong, smart, and successful. You’re expected to bring home money, work hard, be a good brother, a good friend, and still have time for your children and wife.

On top of all that, you're supposed to pursue your dreams, take risks, and never be boring. You have to give your all at work and still have something left for everyone else in your life. But when do you get to do something for yourself?

Sometimes, men crack under this pressure. They turn to drinking, gambling, cheating, or disappearing—anything to escape the suffocating weight of responsibility. Other times, they pour everything into the gym, trying to work through that inner pain. But no matter how hard you work, there’s always a reminder of failure, of disappointment, lurking in the background.
